My American Girl

This is a very happy 1st grade Kira. We are in the parking lot of her school after her concert "The ABC's of America". Kira does everything with enthusiasm. We have all been aware of this concert for a couple months now as we have been the audience on the couch listening to her give us a personal concert at home, or a little serenade in the car while carpooling to lessons. It was like going to a Broadway musical having been familiar with the music to the play. Kira helped us become familiar with her music too, except we didn't have an album to listen to, she was our own little jute box everywhere we went!

This was the best picture I could get. You really have to get there like an hour early to get a decent seat. I think Seth has just gotten used to me standing up the whole time during those things. The kids did some cute things. They sign language to "America the Beautiful" and my favorite was "What's more American". They also took pictures of every 1st grader and put it in a little slide show. We sure are proud of you Kira. Keep up that singing. Never, ever stop!

My Lucky Day

So a couple of years ago Lawni, Brandalyn and I made pumpkin shirts for the kids to wear for Halloween. The kids even participated a little bit. They turned out really fun. So I saw these shirts on U Create and I thought it would be fun to try them. I roped Brandalyn into it and we pulled it off. We probably spent more money and time than it was worth, but it's always fun to make something a little unique every once in a while. And glue and glitter is about as much as I can handle! The girls were posing for me here and the baby happened to slip into the picture at the last second:)

Lawni was busy packing across the street so Bryce and Brielle came and played for a while. These two sat right down and posed just like this. I had to make them do it again after I went and got my camera. Alayna loves having somebody just her size to play with. She gets a little bored with me all day, so she gets so happy when a friend comes over.

Brielle and Kira went looking all over our yard with these bug nets for the leprechauns. They were telling me all sorts of things that leprechauns do and do not do. I love how kids really are the experts on these things!

After their nets turned up empty they decided they would write the leprechaun a note with chalk. Also they have captured my very small leprechaun from my holiday decorations down in the bug catcher. It was a very goofy, happy afternoon. Kira's face is extra goofy with those missing teeth!

What a fun day. I'm not sure how Brynn felt being dressed just like her little sister, but let's face it, how many more years do I have to dress them a little bit alike? Not very many. It was a pretty lucky day!
