The Kennard Cabin

Thanks to the Kennards we were able to spend a beautiful weekend out in the snow in the beginning of March. We stayed in the Kennard cabin, as we have a couple times before, but this time with two more noisy little ladies! The kids loved it and stayed outside until they couldn't feel their hands anymore. It really is fun to be in a cabin when it's cold. Because once you are inside all you feel like doing is cuddling up and getting cozy to some hot chocolate and maybe watch an old Elvis movie or two (which strangely, we didn't do this time!) I think we were too busy watching our little tiny snow bunnies to really sit back and relax. I wish I had a picture of the babies in their high chairs next to each other, they were so cute. I think Anastyn ate her weight in gogurts, and Alayna ate the bare minimum as usual. I remember we had fondu, which was delicious and I made some chicken and rice soup that took way too long and caused me to forget a bunch of stuff I was supposed to bring! That's about all I remember eating wise though. Seth brought up the projector so the boys could "Save the world" playing video games, except that when he went to set it up he forgot one minor detail, the power cord! We were still able to watch movies though. It doesn't really matter what you do. It's just getting away that is fantastic!

Here's the babe... As you can imagine, she didn't walk real well with all that on, but she sure was cute. And if she got tired...

She could just lay down and go for a ride:)

The sledding was great, but you always had to hike back up if you wanted to do it again!

I rememember Brynn getting really hot and tired, so she just sat in the snow to cool off!

Something made Seth really laugh here, I wish I remember what it was.

How cute are they, right? That pose took a lot of time an effort on the moms' end of the camera! In fact we almost lost Brandalyn to a big sink hole in the snow when she was trying to help Anastyn out. Getting the right shot is very serious business!
The girls took a small break from sledding and build a little snow family.

This was just near the cabin. Gordon had found remnants of a snow fort or tunnel he had made last time he had been up there. So armed with buckets and shovels he and Seth went to reestablish this beautiful fort Gordon had started. "This is serious business", you would hear them say. After a while two very sweaty, tired daddies came inside, like they were coming home from a hard days work and looked very satisfied. This is a picture of the girls decorating the boys snow fort. Isn't that what women do though? Men go work hard and build something and we just decorate it for them!

So sad to see the weekend end! But thanks for including us. Brandalyn was just joking yesterday that if we went up there now, there would probably still be plenty of snow there. That's fine by me. I just think it should be done snowing down where we live!!
