Layna turns 2!

Oh man, does this girl love Mickey Mouse or what? So coming up with an idea for Alayna's birthday party was not that hard. She eats, sleeps and drinks mickey. Well, her love was a little stronger back then, but she still loves it a lot and it is still her favorite show to watch on the I-Pad, hands down. First of all, Alayna's darling outfit was made by my amazing friend Brandalyn. She said she saw the idea on Etsy and knew she had to make it. It turned out so cute, and was also useful at her daughters 2nd birthday also where she wore for it at a minnie mouse party. I had Alayna wear it lots because I just loved it so much! Then the cake...I picked Kira up from a Kung Fu panda party a few weeks earlier and the mom of the birthday girl had used these round cake pans to make a big panda face. I stood there and thought, I could make a mickey mouse cake out the same shape. And what I was really thinking was I bet Brandalyn could help me make it look right! And I think we did pretty good. It was fun trying something like that, since I never have before. We set Alayna up by the cake and she was so happy!

We also made these Mickey Mouse rice krispy treats dipped in chocolate. They were yummy and took a lot longer than I expected to make.

Lighting the cake...

Blow it out! I didn't get a good picture, but she got right down and started eating like a little piggie with her face, I saw so proud! Last year she wouldn't do that.

Who says the park is just for kids? These two had us laughing pretty hard.

Everything Disney!

Love this...everybody was so sweet, she got so many fun things. Aunt Nichole and Anthony got her the big Minnie. I have looked in her crib in the dark some nights thinking I have gained another child only to find out that it is just big, huge minnie laying next to Alayna.

I love how Seth talks to her and has to all of our kids at this age. So sweetly, but like she is a little person that understands him just fine. He doesn't baby talk just because they are babies. He gets down on their level and talks to them like he would anybody else...just real sweet to his girls:)

And my girls love their dad back somethin' fierce!

Seth and I gave Alayna this shopping cart. While we were visiting with family, Brynn and Ty took it out of its box and put it together and then they started putting all her new toys in her cart. She was so happy and had just about everything she could ever want out of life!

I started to realize that she was starting to walk home. So we said goodbye to all our family that came and followed our little toddler all the way home with her loot! It was a really great day.

My Little Flounder

Kira goes to a little performing arts group called "Up With Kids". This year she got to do a little summer camp called "Little Mermaid and The Pirates of the Carribean". Kira was totally thrilled to get the part of "Flounder". We were totally thrilled for her and loved seeing how much her stage presence has improved over the last couple of years. It was held at the ampitheater at Heritage Park. It was fun to feel the breeze coming off the creek as we sat across the creek from the performers. In this picture above Kira is posing with Cameron or Mr. C. as all the kids call him. And the little girl that played Ariel.

Kira on stage with a group of mermaids and Ariel who was in purple. Kira had standard lines that came straight from the movie..."Flounder you're just a guppy", "I'm not a guppy!" She was on stage pretty much the whole play because flounder is Ariel's side kick. So if Ariel was on stage, so was Flounder:)

Prince Eric being captured by pirates. This was where both movies got intermixed. I just don't think there was enough parts for boys in the Little Mermaid:) This was Mr. C. or Cameron playing Prince Eric. All the kids loved him. He was one of the oldest and acted as kind of an aid to the teachers.

My Cute Girl-I love how she is just beaming here. She was sooo excited to have us come and see her. I think she will be loving the stage for a long time...

This is Kira with the girl that played Ursula. It really was cute and They only had a week to practice it. I think Kira was wishing that every summer day had been a drama camp day! Way to go kiddo!!

Wet and Soapy!

So I am completely aware of how behind I am at blogging, but just pretend it's summer outside...although with or current weather I have seen a few kiddos decide to throw on swim suits! Anyway, this little wading pool got a lot of use this summer. The kids managed to cram a lot of bodies in there. If you can't get to the pool every day, you have to have something to splash around in.

My little Layna always making calls. This summer Alayna got really confident with swimming. That doesn't mean she can swim across the pool on her own yet, but she just started really loving the water. In the bath tub she started saying, "mommy, I swim!" and she would lay down on her tummy and pose for us. I didn't get many great swimming pictures though. We will have to do lessons next year for sure.

I guess the girls hadn't pruned up enough in the outside pool, so they decide to fill up the indoor pool and suds up the whole room! I know it makes a mess, but it really is cute:)

She was having a great time until she realized she couldn't wipe her face anymore because she was so covered in bubbles, then she panicked a little.

I love having the Fossum girls over, they are nothin' but fun. But I just love this little Brinley Fossum. I told them one day I am just going to keep her, she just says the cutest things!

When Seth walked threw the door that night he wanted to know where the girls were. I told him to go check them out in our bathroom.(And I told him not to be mad either, because we could clean it all up). It made him laugh, but something makes me think he didn't enjoy it as much as I did!

Can't pass it up!

I can't even remember when I took these pictures, but I had to squeeze them in or they would just sit in my computer forever. What a cheeser! When I "say cheese" for the camera she delivers. maybe it's because I'm on the other end smiling just as big trying to get her to smile. I hope my kids are able to develop healthy, normal smiles; unlike mine that are so happy that they always seem to force my eyes closed in the process!

And this is another one of my favorite faces with the tongue poking through:). Man I love this girl! What would I do without her.

Fun summer moments

Gotta throw this one in real quick! Man summer is full of these fun impromtu moments:)
I'm not sure what the girls were baking down below, but Brynn made sure that everyone had an apron! Anastyn's is red and kinda melts into her outfit. Cute, cute!

Brynn with almost every dress-up on that we own. I think all our dress-ups our dumped out every day during the summer. And the girls decided that Alayna needed to be smothered in stuffed animals.

And let's make sure there always 2 of everything! Two strollers, two phones, baby dolls. Sharing is such a fun game.

Trying on shoes...Alayna is offering a little 6 month shoe to Anastyn. I was amazed how Anastyn could always put the shoes on by herself!
