So, here we are in heaven or Lake Powell, call it what you like. We were just thrilled to be there! We spent last year's memorial weekend there breaking in our fun little house boat, "Crazy 8's", with the Kennards. I know I'm a full year behind reporting on things lately, but bare with me, I am going to catch up if it kills me! The Kennards have always been big Lake Powell lovers, and so when they looked into the time share of this house boat, we jumped at the chance of being able to spend some time down here each here with them.
The girls spent a long time paddling across our little bay in this boat. Except the only paddle they had was the frisbie Brynn was holding. I think her arms were pretty tired when they got all rowed out.
Daddy swimming with his little one:)
Cute Anastyn! I love her happy grin. She looks a bit chilly maybe...you can ask Brandalyn, the water was not on the warm side!
Happy little girl playing a game. I was taking a lot of time with her hair!
Out collectin' stuff!
Plenty of time to just chill
Up in a favorite hiding spot. These were little cupboards above the bed in the back room, that were just the right size for a little person's body. They all took a turn being shoved in. Even the little ones.:)

We got a special treat one day when the Lyman's decided to come pay us a visit. They are only 2 hrs away from Bullfrog,so we thought they just had to come see us! The tricky thing was that it was super windy and dusty as Gordon and Brandalyn left to go get them in the speed boat. I was pretty worried about them going on the water since it was so choppy and Heather had her 4 week old litttle tiny Mason in tow! All was well once they got to the boat though. While they were making their way toward us we were having an adventure of our own. I was in the back of the boat and I felt a big jolt. I asked Sethif everything was ok and he said no. The anchor that Gordon and Seth had planted into the ground when we first parked the boat had come loose and the boat was floating freely out into our little bay. The crazy weather made matters worse. I did what I could to help but before I knew it Seth had jumped into the water and was swimming across the bay to secure a new anchor.(the water was not warm!) He didn't stop to get shoes on either and was tearing his feet up as he was climbing across rocks. I helped where I could, but he essentially secured the boat single handedly. When Gordon pulled back into our bay he wasn't quite sure why the house boat had moved so much. At least the boat was still above water. For not being super familiar with boats, I thought Seth did a pretty good recovering us!

So glad to have Heather near us for a while. Her new baby Mason was so tiny and sweet. The weather was so treacherous that we talked about the Lymans staying the night. I have to say, I was a little disappointed that we determined it was safe enough for them to go on home:(. Jeremy brought all the fixin's to make us chicken fajitas. They were amazing of corse. And when you are vacationing on a boat, even better! So great to have good friends. They are really just like family to me.
Brynn and Taeya loved the tube...Kira thought she did until about 5 seconds in when tears started streaming down her face. Oh man, it was kinda sad and just too fast for her I guess. Oh well:)
Glamor shot of Alayna
She loved Lake Powell! She especially liked tossing rocks into the water. Who knew that was so captivating. It's so fun to live in swim suits and just hang out.
Everybody having fun on the ski boat
Brynn and Seth cuddling
Our whole fam
it's great to live without showers:)
Gordon giving Brynn knee board lessons
She got it!
So when we first stopped the ski boat after pulling it across the channel for the first time Alayna and the girls were sitting on the back edge of the boat and I was right next to her, but I took my eyes off her for a minute and she slipped right into the chilly deep water! thank goodness for the life jacket! I grabbed the shoulders of the life jacket and pulled her right out of the water. She was shocked and chilly. It was a reality check to me as to how careful we need to be around all this deep unforgiving water. Now I understand why Gordon insists that the girls ALWAYS have their life jackets on.
Cute Taeya...she is a master of the water. She is not afraid of anything. The water was not warm Memorial Day weekend and she insisted on being in it as much as possible. We would just finish dinner and the sun would be on its way down and she would beg her dad to get back into the water with her. He would inevitably hop back in with her. Gordon is a good sport and a bit of a fish too.
My cute Brynn sporting Seth's hat and sunglasses. She is a little Seth though, right?
Time to go home...sad!! We love you Crazy 8's boat, hope we can visit again soon. Thanks Kennard family for bringing us into the world of Lake Powell.
